Carmina Burana

Performed by the National Opera & Ballet from ukraine

Soon in theaters: a live recording of the world-famous musical masterpiece “Carmina Burana” by Carl Orff, performed by the National Opera and Ballet of Ukraine (Odessa). A live recording of a performance at the New Luxor in Rotterdam on April 16, 2023. Featuring star soloists Alina Tkachuk, Bogdan Panchenko, and Olksandr Prokopovich in the leading roles, this promises to be an impressive presentation.

The direction of this 4K Dolby Atmos recording is in the hands of Rolf Dekens (Stamhouder, Hans Zimmer Live), and the sound is provided by Arjan Rietvink (Within Temptation: Let Us Burn: Elements & Hydra Live in Concert). The production is overseen by San Fu Maltha (Zwartboek, Ennio) in co-production with Gerard Mosterd (L’Histoire du Soldat). Ron Groenewoud (Baantjer, Alberta) is responsible for line production.

The world premiere of this opera took place in Odessa, Ukraine, in February 2020, and it was a resounding success. Despite the pandemic and the war in Ukraine, the National Opera and Ballet of Ukraine is thrilled that, through this live recording, they can reach an even larger audience worldwide.
